Job Description

Our Global Supply Chain operates as a unified virtual system with our customers and suppliers by acting as seamless extensions of their operations. We offer customized, flexible and integrated supply chain solutions, supported by a global technology platform and a dedicated, market-focused team.

We are currently seeking a Commodity Management Manager based out of our Hong Kong office.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages a team of Commodity Managers who have worldwide responsibility for a complex group of components or services.
  • Provides guidance and support to the commodity manager during global negotiations of pricing, terms and conditions and monitoring of supplier performance.
  • Provides guidance and support for worldwide product sourcing process.
  • Maintains responsibility for development and execution of procurement strategies for a group of components or services.
  • Manages complex and varied commodities in an environment of rapid global acquisitions.
  • Establishes and drives strategic global bidding/initiatives while ensuring all sites interests are understood and accounted for.
  • Maintains responsibility for commodity plans, supplier selection, quotation/contracting and supplier relationship management for high dollar commodities.
  • Participates in Corporate Commodity Council meetings to provide updates on key measurements and to identify and lead implementation of strategic initiatives. Establishes ""rules of interaction"" between corporate & sites to establish commodity splits, reporting, responsibilities and overall communications.
  • Facilitates process of making the material commitments on behalf of Celestica worldwide.
  • Mentors and educates staff in engineering concepts, financial analysis and world-wide marketplace.
  • Manages a group of SCM employees or managers.
  • Maintains responsibility for employee training, performance, measurement, development, motivation and recognition.
  • Establishes department goals/ measurements and manages resources to achieve this goals.
  • Drives continuous improvements of SCM function through interactions with other departments.

Requirements:

  • Expert knowledge of the marketplace conditions for a broad range of strategic commodities in industry pricing, technology, supply/demand and emerging trends.
  • Strong knowledge of Celestica’s global supply chain including strategic policies and objectives.
  • Excellent understanding of global business environment and Customers business, organization, products and processes.
